You have got to have more pictures then that. Looks real good. Very interested in seeing more. Looks like a nice shop as well.

Re: Couple of pictures
Alan,
I'll comment over here where I don't have to stand in line. (1183 views/93 posts! Created quite a stir) Everything looks great. I don't see the frame table/jig in that spotless shop. Was the chassis fabricated in a different area? Off the self GM parts. Doesn't look like you'll get stuck on a road trip waiting for parts to be shipped. I thought it was being put together by Rod Works but I guess I was wrong. Carry on and post more often. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/10/2009 12:05AM by TR6-6SPD. |

Re: Couple of pictures
Awesome Alan!
Thanks for posting some photos of your TR250 progress! Hmm, let’s see, doing the math of let’s say 2300 lbs car or maybe less with stock 400 ponies out of your LS2, that works out to be 5.75 lbs of car to 1 HP. Now that I would say is in the super car range. OK a little cam, intake, head porting with those 243 or 799 heads that LS2 has, can change that weight to power ratio to an easy 4.6 lbs of car to 1 hp. Your car will be an adrenalin rush for sure! Have a very big lot with nothing around for your first ride and testing LOL! I have a big grin for you! Looks like you were able to move your shifter into the front inspection plate?. Nice . It won't be sitting back to far! Calvin Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/09/2009 07:57PM by 74ls1tr6. |

Re: Couple of pictures
Wait, I have to go get a bib!
Fantastic work and going under the body of a 250! Looking at the frame design, is the engine / trany to be pulled for service in the regular body on process? Are you going with the fender vents? The questions are mounting but I'll stop and just use my bib for now. Congrats! Dale, this must bring back memories |
Re: Couple of pictures
Don,
The engine and tranny is intended to be able to be pulled with the body on. Car on stands, slide forward and tilt. The vents are going in - although the material from Revington is hand finished and looks terrible close up. It might be reworked with something non-stock (or not). My inner Yorkshireman has me cringing at the thought cutting up NOS fenders, but it's just bits of metal, right? Paint is Wedgewood - like the middle one. No center foglight (instead there's going to be 2 + 2 on the pushbar). Frame will be gloss white |

Re: Couple of pictures
Here is a photo that I took at VTR/Triumphest 2009, of a TR4 that had the vents installed. The person who did the body work, added the 1/4" lip going inward, which to me looked like they came that way from the factory(the looks anyway).
Another set of vents in a TR4 with a Ford 302, that had some over heating problems as you can see by the hood setup. This set of vents is moved back probably into the footwells some. These photo's are the only 2 cars that had the vents in the whole venue. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/14/2009 12:45AM by 74ls1tr6. |
Re: Couple of pictures
The rally cars are finished with the inward lip. That's the look I'm hoping for.
Here's one more - to give you an idea how well it all fits together |
Re: Couple of pictures
So the back end looks a little different now. The builder has been busy. Thought you might like to see what he's been up to:
Engine's in it's final spot too. Looks like it belongs in there now. I'm so looking forward to driving this thing... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/06/2010 06:24PM by alana. |

Re: Couple of pictures
Alan,
Looks like your build is moving right along! It looks like the vintage air is going into the firewall some. I wonder if he is cutting into the windsheild wipper cable area, that would be using some of the dead air space there. Do you know if your vent will still be usable? I get it now, you will be having your sound system in the dash, so need the extra room for the vintage air. What size fuel cell are going to use? Some sheet metal coming along there, (Nice) battery cover, tubing for the wheel clearance. I know the feeling of just wanting to drive it :-) It will happen, keep yourself busy, maybe it will get done quicker! Calvin |
Re: Couple of pictures
This'll show you the gauge layout - as you pointed out, the head unit is front and center...
iirc the tank is roughly 14 gallons. The vent is coming out and it's having a rally scoop put in there. Looks like this: And like this installed It's really only decorative - I'll have air conditioning after all... Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 04/08/2010 06:48PM by alana. |
Re: Couple of pictures
Lookin Good alana. So basically it looks like a narrowed TVR type space frame (no one I know) but with a much narrower track to get a TR4 body on it.
Cool build. Should be fun in the corners! |

It's looking great Alan. I may have missed it, but who's doing the build?
