TR6 V8 in Phoenix
Here
[cgi.ebay.co.uk] Was on before with a $9,800 start, over 1,000 page views and no bids. Shame he can't be bothered to describe it, and the content of his photo album seems, errrm, unrelated. I see standard brakes and radiator, which suggests it might be a work in progress. Anyone know the car? Ivor |

Re: TR6 V8 in Phoenix
So, here it is at a much lower price.
[www.ebay.co.uk] The owner doesn't know much about it, I believe he is genuine, his uncle bought the car at auction for a bit of fun, and found they'd bitten off more than they wanted to chew. He mentions tlc... no seat belts, brake master needs replacing (that combination must make for relaxed driving...) interior needs doing, tyres are old. New 350 crate motor, alloy intake, cast heads. Runs a bit hot in Arizona, needs the fan on. No surprise with the standard TR6 rad in there. Turbo 400 trans. The paint job was already on the car a year ago. Still has irs. Haven't been able to find out what differential is in there or the ratio. There's been some fairly major bush engineering at the rear end. The photo link in the ad doesn't work. This one might. [s1207.photobucket.com] What is it with Pontiac steering columns... this is the second V8 car I've seen with one in there. Clearly, it runs, and once ran enough for the driver's seat to be worn out. Wish I could go and look at it. A bargain for someone, but needs too much work for me. At age 61, I'm aware of the clock ticking, and of course I already have a nice standard car that I'd have to let go. I'll keep looking.... As I said, I think the owner is a genuine chap. one can see from the family business thst they don't need the money, they just want to move the car along. Go get it, someone. Ivor |

Re: TR6 V8 in Phoenix
Yes, one has to admire the builder's determination to get the conversion done. He didn't allow little things like that to get in his way.
Not that I can really make out which drive shaft one is looking at there... is it the prop shaft or one of the half shafts? Anyone recognise what differential unit is in there? Corvette?? Ivor Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/17/2012 04:03PM by 88v8. |
