Barn find GOLD!!!!!!! Project with LEEPU!!!
Well, I found this forum in search of infor about a barn find I bought two days ago. This is a Triumph Mk3 Spitfire that has a little surprise in it! A stunnung ROVER 4barrel V8!!!!! This was a street legal running track car with scca badges on it too! I know it looks rough but it's going to be gold after Leepu is finished with the bodywork! And yes that Leepu of Chop Shop fame. What I do know of it..
the only owner of this car did this conversion. Everything is there, there is a 30 gal gas tank in the trunk that was almost fitted in when the owner got sick and was never able to finish the car. That was February of 1991. Before that this car ran. it has sat, uncovered in a field for the last 8 years. In my eyes worth every penny I paid for it. About the cost of a new transmission! Please feel free to follow us ae we try to breathe some life into the Spitfire and really make it SPIT-FIRE!!! Dwight, Good Find! It looks like 61-63 Olds 215 motor. At least heads and valve covers. Very similar block to early 3.5 Rover except 6 head bolts per cylinder. Buick and Rover valve covers are straight up. If an original 4 barrel motor it will have decent compression. 2 barrel heads were low compression.
