OK I have a 2.8L V6 out of a 74 mustang II I have the rearslump oil pan. The bell housing off the 4 speed gearbox I need some advice as to the best gearbox to get that will fit with the least mod. I know a t5 will fit onto that bell housing but don't know the best place to souce it from. Or would it be best to find a diffent 5 speed

Sunbeam Alpine use the 2.8 Ford V6 with 94 and up Mustang long input T5 with input tip turned down to small 2.8 V6(and 4 cyl) diameter or 93 and older Mustang T5 with extended pilot bushing. Mustang II bellhousing. More info on SAOCA forum.

Tbird Turbo 4 T5 has 4.03 first. I know I wouldn't like 1st that low. Spitfire rear ratio is 3.89. You will like the 94-96 Mustang V6 T5, has the best ratios and is World Class,3.35 first and .72 OD. Even better with the Infinity Q45 R200 3.54 rear end.

When you use a T5 with a mustang 2 bell, you need to get the front bering retainer turned down to fit into the bell housing. Dont get the bell bored if its slightly off center youll run into issues. I own a mustang 2 with the 2.8 and a T5 and have been there before.

from what I understand the 94 mustang t5 tran from a 3.8 v6, the input shaft needs to be turned down to match the size of the T5 used behind the 2.3, which is .590" from the current .668" and the bearing reatainer should be swapped for on used on a 5.0 mustang

Craig, Plus, like Anthony said above the diameter of the bearing retainer has to be turned down to fit the Mustang II bellhousing hole.
