Re: TR6 BMW M50 Swap
Yes sir! The specific engine is a M50B25TU- which is from a 1996 325i BMW. According to Wikipedia, it makes 189hp and 181 lb-ft. That being said, the engine does have 180k kilometers on it so maybe a bit less? Either way it will be more than enough, I really like the idea of reliability as well as fuel injection.
I will try to take more photos, recently I've been slacking... Also a quick question, is there a standard cable throttle pedal I can purchase that should bolt to the firewall? I've seen cheap kits on ebay, but I'm a little hesitant on buying those. |

Re: TR6 BMW M50 Swap
I used a Lokar cable pedal and made a mounting bracket on the TR6 pedal box. I also pined the pedal spring load on the pedal so the pedal wouldn't pivot.
In this photo you can see the relieved area for the cable on the right side on the TR6 pedal box. The cable exited into the engine compartment right at the top inner corner of the foot box, where the TR6 pedal assembly is mounted. My clutch and brake pedal have been extended since this photo was taken. Here is the link for the pedal I used. [lokar.com] Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/27/2016 08:24AM by 74ls1tr6. |
