Rick Vandenberg's TR6
Is for sale again. Same seller as a year ago, same silly ad, same pics, tyres n'all a year older, $1k off the price.
[www.ebay.co.uk] It's lost Rick's hardtop, seats, harnesses, exhausts, rear bumpers, roll bar. Gained a front bumper and the side glass, rebuilt trans, some botched side pipes and a dent in the passenger door. Does it still have the stroker engine, or has it been taken out. Hmmm. Ivor |

Re: Rick Vandenberg's TR6
The seller gave me the engine number.
Rick advises that this is not the number of his stroker. So unless someone swapped all the internals, what was advertised is likely not what's being sold . After Rick sold the car in 2011, I presume one of the owners decided to pull the engine, perhaps without declaring what he'd done. Underlines a factor in buying a modified car; how does one really know what's in there. Ivor |

Re: Rick Vandenberg's TR6
Yes, but the question isn't whether this is Rick's car, the question is how much of Rick's build and components are left.
The way the seller described it, the implication was that it was all there. As Rick said in his now redacted post, sadly it ain't so. Whether the seller knew quite how much is missing of course, that is another matter. But he knows now that the engine is gone, because I told him. So we'll see what he says next time he lists it. Unless of course one of our Forum members wants to rescue the car while it's still worth saving. I'm sure the seller would listen to an offer, and after all, even with a crate motor it's still quite a car. Ivor Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/15/2016 05:23AM by 88v8. |
