Crank trigger for TR4 I-4
Here are photos of a crank trigger setup for the stock TR4 engine:
The finished assembly, complete and ready to install. The stock pulley half after welding on a slice of tubing to make the trigger wheel flange. This will go on Dan B's port injected engine, and will run an EDIS ignition in conjunction with his MS-II engine controller. Jim |

Every time that I think I've seen it all.........along comes Jim.
I think that's even an old song! "long lean lanky Jim" by the coasters? Anyway nicely done once again Jim. Live like you mean it. Fred Edit; actually it's Jones, but I think Jim fits better :-) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/03/2016 09:23PM by DiDueColpi. |

Re: Crank trigger for TR4 I-4
Tim, this is going to be installed on my TR4A, which has the stock engine but a multi-port electronic fuel injection setup controlled by Megasquirt. This was installed by Jim and me at his place a few years ago, and there is a thread on here somewhere that follows that process. Last year I went through about 3 stock coils which fried something in the Megaquirt and resulted in losing the main processor card. Given the success and reliability of the wasted spark setup, it just happened that we had most of the spare parts laying around that we need to upgrade the ignition, so Jim took my spare front pulley, timing cover and the pickup back to his shop after his last visit here, and above in this thread you see the result. Pretty cool, huh?

Re: Crank trigger for TR4 I-4
Dan . I would say yes it is cool but first I will find the other thread and read up on it. I assume the trigger makes the Mega Squirt squirt ant the right time. Nice work Jim as usual.
