Turbo Honda TR6
Check out this highly modified TR6 that is being built.
Some of the body mods don't exactly appeal to me but it is well built. [www.speedhunters.com] Cheers Byron |
Re: Turbo Honda TR6
Just my opinion but I think the body mods are to the point of cartoonish but the mechanical mods appear well done

`I have never been a fan of the patio cover style fender flares especially when they are only covering a 9" wide wheel. I didn't think the Miata track was that much wider than a TR6.

Re: Turbo Honda TR6
Looks like excellent workmanship.
My guess is that this car is a dedicated Track Car so aesthetics wise, doesn't much matter. Certainly I'd never street a car that looked like that, but to each his own. Some quick looking (not 100% sure about these numbers, but) TR6 Wheel Track was ~125cm, [www.carfolio.com] and the Miata NC was ~149cm, [www.ultimatespecs.com] So the NC should only be ~1/2" wider on each side. Buddy says that he "has mated NC Miata subframes in the front and rear of the car to the tube frame chassis". I think by "mated" he means cut the sides off and installed them on the tube frame chassis. This would give him the Miata Control Arm geometry but with a wider stance; not sure about Roll Centres etc. but I imagine overall it wouldn't be bad. Also, I don't think that the factory Steering Rack Assembly would work without modifications. Just altering the length of the ends would change the steering geometry. Would be interesting to learn the details of what he actually did. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/24/2018 09:03AM by Maņana. |

Re: Turbo Honda TR6
Dohhh! damn decimals. Thanks Paul.
Well then that 5" on both sides could have the Miata rack fitting okay. |
