Keeping it in the family - TR6/Stag.

Not the obvious solution to an 'engineless' TR6; replace the 150 bhp injection six with a 140 bhp Stag V8.
But there's that V8 soundtrack, and it keeps things in the family. Four-speed + o/d.

The car looks standard. If there is a takeaway from the various conversions that come onto the market, it is that body mods are a potential saleability killer. Is it sitting low at the front, or is it the camera angle.........

Like the ad says, the engine looks at home in there.

As UK TR6 prices currently go, not overpriced.

Personally, I have always preferred to admire the Stag from a safe distance. Here [en.wikipedia.org] there is an exposition of the engine's various inherent flaws. It is said that these have nowadays been addressed. So it is said.

Edit: in a week's time, new regs will come into force as regards vehicle registration and annual testing. Here, the issue will be testing. Cars over forty years old will be exempt from annual testing, but if they have been significantly modified within the last thirty years then they will still have to be tested. This car, re-engined errrm when, will almost certainly be caught. Currently and perhaps perpetually, that will play into sales value and will depress the attraction of modified cars.
After all, everyone wants that other people have their cars tested in the interests of road safety, but would prefer that their own be exempt.

Over here, our TR-6 was barely 100 HP, so this would be considered quite an upgrade.
