Turbo TR6
Not a V8, alas.
But complete and ready to go. Another of these cases where someone spends years and $$$, then drives the car a few hundred miles and sells it. Downsizing is the culprit here, apparently. Anyway, here it is with its 2.3 litre turbo 4-banger and 5-speed. The engine from an 88 T-Bird. Oh dear, a T-Bird with as 4 banger. Really? Don't personally care for the low profile tyres. The seller says it's because it was spinning its wheels with standard tyres. Hmm. Otherwise, leaving aside the fact that the engine is run by a computer which is not me at all at all, it looks a smart build. Even has a heater and screen wipers. Tidy under the bonnet. Running 16psi boost. Expect it bimbles along nicely. It's not going down a storm on BaT, so assuming the reserve isn't too ambitious, could be a bargain for someone. [bringatrailer.com] And when the stock rear end breaks, fixing that will give you something to do. Ivor |

Re: Turbo TR6
I take it you are not familiar with Dale's TR6, Ivor?
[www.britishv8.org] After wrecking it on a road course, he stretched it 2" to meet the 90" minimum because he drag races it. [forum.britishv8.org] [www.youtube.com] |

Re: Turbo TR6
No, hadn't seen that.
Quite a car. Makes me wonder even more about the stock rear end on that BaT car. But then, the fate of all trans parts rests in the foot of the driver. Ivor |
