Need to swap rear axle

I think the 'Performance' upgrade may require a rear axle swap!

Anybody get any suggestions for an easy swap?

Thanks

Ford 8.8. If you can find one from a mid 80s Foxbody Mustang, its pretty close to the right width. If you can find a late 90s Ford Explorer and shorten the longer side to match the shorter side, you will once again be very close to the stock width. The Explorer rear end has the 31 spline axles and a 5X114.3 bolt pattern. The Mustang has 28 spline axles and is a 4X108 bolt pattern. You will have to cut away old mounts and weld in new ones.
