I may be willing to part with my 3.5 EFI Rover complete setup - u-bolt-it-in - engine/computer/headers/mounts/transmission.
If your transmission is an J Type OD I may consider a partial swap but that one is probably an A Type from that Early Stag you have ...

I am also working on a 73 Stag with an injected Rover 3.5. I suggest that you stay with an engine with the distributor in the front. The engine compartment is challenging. I recently completed making new motor mounts and am starting to work on some sheetmetal mods to gain needed clearance around the 700R4 transmission. In my case the aluminum V8 is lighter than the Stag cast iron engine but my transmission is heaver which effectively moves the weight distribution toward the rear.
