...has been added to the Photo Gallery this morning!

Check it out here: Ken Schmidt's How-It-Was-Done write-up (with 13 photos)

Many thanks are due to Calvin! - He took the photos, transcribed Ken's handwritten notes, and e-mailed them to me so we can all enjoy this car.

Folks, please don't hesitate to twist arms. When you meet someone with a nice engine-swopped British car - don't let them get away! The usual claim is "Oh, I'm not web savvy enough to e-mail photos. I don't even have one of those new-fangled cameras..." - Why not volunteer to help them?

Here are some photos to whet your appetite:

Well done Curtis,

The second photo down shows a little of the flexable steering cable that Ken used.

If you look just above the distributor cap, you can see the angle of the (black) steering shaft coming from the firewall, on the right side of the air cleaner, you can see the (black) cable steering rod arch 90 degrees down to the steering rack. The bracket that holds the steering support is mounted on the fender well (above the air cleaner).

As for motor mounts, Ken said this was an older 350 chevy (60's) which the motor mounts are not on the side of the block. So to answer your question, the mounts are directly mounted to the front of the block (solid mounted).

The brakes I have the same question for Ken?

I'm sure I will get with Ken for some answers for all of us.

I did get the privledge to drive Ken's car.......Veeery fast and neck snaping feeling.....now wonder it was hard to catch up to him in my Honda Element, but well worth it. I would say around 300 + HP somewhere.

Thank you Curtis for doing a wonderful job for Ken's "How it was done".

The little things you can do for other people keep me inspired with my ride.

Calvin

PS: The photo's are showing well.

Very nice. That is exactly the look I'm going for (with a Ford motor).

Ken,

Sweet Ride!

How about posting more information and details on the flexible steering cable?

One really big issue with the TR6/MG/British Small Cars when dropping in a little American Iron is "the steering linkage".

Most go with custom u-joint type system, but if your flex system can expidite the build process, share brother!

How is the response while driving, any lag, bump steer, issue with connections?

I don't need it as my ride is done but more and more are joining our ranks!
