As you may recall I modified the hood hinge with a piston. The modification was plenty strong to hold the hood up but it warped the hinge when closing causing the hood to move side ways and close on top of the finder and the new paint (ask me how I know). Nothing ventured nothing gained you never know until you try and I love trying. So, the piston had to go and I made a manual hood support that worked really well and was able to use the origional hood support rod. Here are the photo's of the new rig.

These are the new 3/4" heim joints and I also reinforced the heim mounting bracked. These joints nearly eliminated the slack in the steering. The front end drives really nice and tracks in a straight line and steers with little effort.

I installed the new hood protector. It was easy to install and fit perfectly and really looks good.

Everything is complete under the hood.

Was able to use part of the wind funnel into the radiator and it worked well.
I guess this is it until the interior is complete so see you later.
Took the car out to test the rear end and everything sounded smooth and quite.
Phil

I am still working on the interior but should be finished this week but found time to ride in the 4 july parade with my daughter. We had about 15 cars from our Rod club. This is a small town and anyone can participate just show up..
The irony of an english car in this parade was lost on most.

The car is finally finished. It has been fun to build and drive. The seat covers are from Mr. Mike's and they are really high quality also bought some extra leatherette for the panels which I did my self. The leatherette is wheat and the carpet is a dark brown feintuft valour wool carpet. Here are the photo's.

That is a very definite upgrade, the car never looked anywhere near that good even when it was brand spanking new. Good job Phil.

Wow! Phil. Was showing my wife your build diary and got to the new pics and was blown away. Hadn't even seen them myself until I showed them to her. Like I said today "there is no greater pleasure than to stand back, look at something proudly and say ' I built that myself!'"
Great job Man! I know you have to be smiling large when you drive her! I only hope mine can be half as nice.
