BMW auto trans adapter for 3.0 Stag V-8

I am changing direction in my "restoration" and have decided to keep the 3.0 engine but understand that there is an adapter for a BMW auto trans. Does anyone have any information on this, and will it accommodate a 5 speed auto or just a 4 speed. I am thinking of a 5 speed auto out of a 3 series BMW. If anyone has information, greatly appreciated to my email above. Am member of Stag Club of USA and Red River Triumph Club in Dallas, TX, USA. When I finish the restoration, I may have gobs of spares left over for use by others. Was USAF delegate to NATO and regularly stopped in London enrout home to collect parts and have more boxes of this stuff than i can keep.
