Modify front crossmember or battery shelf?

Hi guys - decided to use a Nissan SR20DE and marchingn5 speed,

Have it basically fitted, transmission tunnel is going to be OK but I need to make a decision on modifying the front cross member or the battery tray. The Nissan engine has a front mounted sump and I have. Kt come across good options for reversing it.

The pro / cons that I can see, but please take me to school here, are;

- while it can be done messing around with front crossmember opens up suspension and steering and strength issues
- battery tray seems like an easier area to modify as I on,y need about an inch of clearance and I was going to relocate the battery to the trunk anyway
- I believe I can cut the battery tray in a way it could be put back to stock and if not those parts are available anyway whereas the front crossmember is a different kettle of fish
- modifying the battery tray allows me to use the stock radiator location and mounts

Any ideas or coaching for me?

Thanks!

Battery shelf for $200.00 Tom!

It lets you set the engine back for better weight balance and you avoid all the suspension pitfalls.

Cheers
