After much effort, Dan finally has his TR4A original 4 cylinder engine running well under a custom, tuned runner multiport fuel injection system and Ford electronic distributorless modular ignition system using a variable reluctor crank trigger pickup and custom no-snag trigger wheel constructed as a flange at the back of the V-belt pulley. The spark is generated by one dual coil wasted spark coil pack, powered by a Motorcraft EDIS standalone module, which accepts timing advance signals from his MegaSquirt-II EFI controller. He is using a Wideband oxygen sensor with outputs to the MS2 and to a dashboard mounted AFR gage. Ratios currently run from 12 something at WOT to around 15 at cruise and 16-17 on deceleration. Idle is in the 13-14 range. The original distributor has been removed from the tachometer drive and the opening blocked off.

Dan will be driving the car down to the Townsend get together on Thursday, so you can see it there. I think he is headed back Saturday morning.

The car was very well received at the Tally Ho and did a very respectable job of keeping up with the more powerful conversion cars on the local drives. A very torqey performer. There was a good bit of interest in the EFI and ignition system.

The EFI plenum from the Geo ? was amazing, the EDIS was also a really good job. The car preformed well and Dan drove the SNOT out of it. :-)
