Stag + 302, or something.
This underdescribed Stag has what we are told is a new 302. Attached to an unknown trans, hopefully not the original.
Owned by a NASA engineer. I expect they have lots of engineers. Some better than others. Nice interior. If it is really rust-free, that's a big bonus. Stored 40 years. That's forty. Never ran with this engine. All sounds a bit odd. What's that around the servo? Is it someone's knickers? Is this how space capsules are built? Anyway, here it is in Florida with a $16,000 ask. [www.ebay.com] By the time you've gone through the brakes, fuel tank, all the rubber parts, tyres, be a bit more than $16,000. Never mind. It's only money. But while we're here, this picture shows what was said to be a Stag with a 327 Chevy that had been standing 20 years. That's twenty. Here it was. [forum.britishv8.org] last August, complete with the knickers. How time flies. Funny old world, eh? Ivor Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/07/2020 03:13PM by 88v8. |

Re: Stag + 302, or something.
Well... both engine bay photos obviously show a Chevrolet engine, not a 302 Ford. I'm skeptical that it's a "crate" engine either. (Prospective buyer should ask to see receipts.) Iron heads. Rusty iron exhaust manifolds. Filthy intake manifold. Some of the plumbing looks like it might be re-used.
Inside the car, the gear selector isn't original to the Triumph. I'm no expert on automatic shifters, but I'd guess it's an aftermarket one of the style more commonly associated with Mustangs. Maybe not exactly this model, but similar. (Lever seems oddly long too.) |
