Any experience with RATCO frame and 302?
Hi, is there anyone with a RATCO TR-6 frame with a Ford 302 that is willing to share experiences? I'd like to know about engine/tranny fit (i.e. does it fit with no cutting as advertised), steering column, and radiator placement/modification and any other issues that you may have run into making the swap.
I am a long time lurker, but a new poster to the site. I have always been impressed with the amount of knowledge and experience here and i would like to tap into some of that. Thanks and have a Triumphant day. Russ Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/09/2021 09:59PM by RCNorthernIL. |

Can't help you with info on the Ratco frame but if you're not aware FastCars also offer a TR6 frame.

Thanks Rob, i have looked at the FastCars website, but if i understand correctly, they are only designed for straight axles and not IRS. Nothing against straight axles, but in my opinion, the TR6 is just not quite right without IRS. It is, however, wonderful with a great big, honkin' V8 under the hood.

Nothing wrong with IRS, I have one in my V8 MGB. But, I was fortunate enough to get to drive Ted's TR6 (the red one on the FastCars web site) and I will say it drove great. I drove it in the hills and twisty roads in east TN and it handled great.
