I am looking for advice on converting my front brakes on my 100-6 to discs. I see Dennis Welch has a kit that costs almost $1000 (US currency) plus the high cost of shipping.
Another Healey owner has a pair of 3000 series brackets that he wants to sell for $400 and then I would have to buy all the other parts from Moss Motors such as the rotors, hubs, calipers, etc.

BP Northwest has a kit and it appears to be $1900.

Any advice on how to convert these without spending an arm and a leg? It seems the biggest factor is the brackets.

Make your own brackets. Start with poster board , then plywood for templates. If under 1/2" thick use steel plate, if over, use T6 aluminum. Whatever calipers you use, match the thickness of rotors. 4 piston calipers stick out further than 2 piston slider types. Larger calipers require larger bore master cylinders.

looked at buying the disc brake conversion parts separately and found out it was cheaper to buy the kit from England through Denis Welch's company which included the rare brackets, lines, rotors, calipers, and every bolt needed for the conversion. Still a lot of money for only front disc brakes.
