I am in the process of building a TD V-8. It will have an Olds 215. In my collection of bits is an original GM 3 speed bellhousing. I think I saw somewhere that it could be adapted to a Ford or GM T-5 or T-50 series trans. Has anyone done one, if so how thick an aluminum plate needed to give the correct spacing. And, do the Fords work mated to the original 215 crank pilot bearing/bushing? I did see this set-up in someones for sale ad that promped my question. (have seen 5 speeds linked to flathead and 4 banger Fords this way, too) thanks Hugh

Hugh, that pic is a bell housing for a 215 to a Ford T5, which obviously needs a spacer. If you use a GM T5 you won't need a spacer. D&D sells the bell housings you will need.
