Rover LT-77 Rebuild
Who besides the wedge shop rebuilds the Rover 5-Speeds in the US? I have one with a cooked 2nd gear, but I have a close ratio gear set to go in. It is more like an upgrade/rebuild.

Re: Rover LT-77 Rebuild
I also have a LT-77 from a Triumph with a bad gear (3rd). I was expecting to rebuild it myself, but I'll be curious to hear the answer to your query.
Is the close ratio set from the 380? |

Re: Rover LT-77 Rebuild
The close ratio set is original BL Motorsport/ Leyland ST racing part and only fits the LT-77 and not the later boxes. I have a few transmissions apart and man I am not going to bother trying a rebuild myself....too many parts. I rebuilt one years ago and a dog or shift gear worked loose, fell down and jambed into the gear locking it up at about 45 mph and then things from there went really bad. The tranny blew up in about 1000 miles! Too many moving parts!
