Has any one converted a 215 to Propane in an MGB? I'm looking for any information or web sites that might have some information on doing this conversion. The tanks appear to be alittle difficult to get in the form that would work on an MGB.

Thanks. Paul

Paul

I think they may have built some propane powered V8 Morgans a few years back. I belive it was a factory effort, for cars bound for certain markets that had poor octane fuel. Might be worth checking out some Morgan web sites, to see if anything ever came of it.

I think there were also some Australian or UK MGB's that were running propane. There's a fellow named Art in California who had one. Try a general search for MGB and propane, I think you'll find a few leads.

Paul, this is a good website that has info on all sorts of BOP/Rover engine modifications.
There is some pretty good info on converting to LPG.
Also RPI engineering has kits to convert your engine.

This has become a very popular conversion in the UK, so look on the British sites and forums and you will find a ton of info about different tricks and pitfalls of the conversion process.

I want to recruit that "Mez" author to write an article for our magazine... if just for the personal satisfaction of publishing jewels like this sentence:

Quote:
If you have manky old leads with 7mm insulation, sling them and buy 8 or 8.5mm silicone racing leads or you will suffer constant insulation failure and backfires.

Manky? I declare "manky" to be todays Word-of-the-Day.

manky \'man-kee\ adj (mankier, mankiest) (UK, Ireland, slang) 1 : unpleasant, 2 : unpleasantly dirty, 3 : disgusting.
