Re: New type Locker/Limited Slip
Mike, Yes, 25 spline. The earlier info in this thread on 29 splines is wrong. Misinformation. The only axle I found with 25 splines was the Chrysler 7.25. Common in A bodies behind small block and slant six motors and early Dakota pickups. There was a Sure Grip clutch type posi available for it. I was thinking about the Dana Super 30. It uses 30 spline side gears so you can use Dana 44 Jeep axles. Sort of a Hybrid. Whoops, looks like the Dana 30 uses 10 bolts to mount the ring gear unlike the Dana 27, Chrysler 7.25 and MGB which use 8.

Re: New type Locker/Limited Slip
Never mind.
Based on Quaife dimensions they are not even close. I keep on coming back to a $3K diff from Moser or Currie! That gets me the 4x100mm wheels bolt pattern, wilwood 11" discs, etc. Before everyone says narrow one locally, things cost more here! Comes out close to the same and quality can be............. |

Quote: I guess so. Many of us are very skeptical about it. I keep thinking there has got to be something that is close enough to tweak a bit. How about that Dana 27 that can be made to fit the Banjo rear. Can it be made to fit the Salisbury??? |

Re: New type Locker/Limited Slip
Carl, I'm thinking that is a possibility. The only problem is you have to find a used case and the 10 spline axle side gears. All the clutches and internals are available new(same as Dana 30). The Dana 30 is the same except 10 mounting holes instead of 8 and 27 spline axle side gears. The Ford 7.5 Trac-Lok is close also with 10 mounting holes and 28 spline side gears. Yukon makes replacement cases for Dana 44 and 60 Powr Lok. I wish they made them for the Dana 30 and you could get it undrilled and/or drilled to the MGB ring gear pattern with 30 spline side gears. Their Grizzly Locker for the 7.5 Ford is like a 4 pinion Detroit Locker with a large spring on both sides(soft engagement, no clunk). Machined steel case that would be much stronger than stock. You could use short Ranger axles or cheap cut to fit long spline axles. Here is a picture.

Re: New type Locker/Limited Slip
If we find something that will work, might be worth having Moser make the axles. The Ford 7.5 posi will be easier to find.

Re: New type Locker/Limited Slip
Carl, Too big or wide but, the Dana 30 with same 27 spline axle may work. I was hoping for a 8 bolt ring gear mount to eliminate the issues Perry had on his mounting. The early 7.25 Chrysler Sure Grip has 8 bolt mount and same splines as MGB. Pretty rare though.
