O.E colors for a 62 Buick 215 V8?

Seeing a lot of different colors out there, anyone know the rhyme or reason behind why some 215s have a silver hammered or crackle finish on the valve covers and others do not? Also some have black air cleaners and some have silver or a greenish color. trying to restore a 62 Buick wagon, thanks

I have one set of Buick 215 valve covers on my car, plus a spare set. They both left the factory with a galvanized but unpainted finish. You know... the metallic color of zinc. I didn't especially care for that look, so I had them powdercoated satin black.

Original air cleaner? I seem to recall that mine was black, but it's been 25 years since I discarded it.

Curtis is right, the V6 and 64 300V8 were Buick green. The 215 was aluminum color. Air cleaner black. The old memory isn't what it used to be. Here is a picture of the V6 color.

I rescued a 300 from a '64 LeSabre and it had a silver paint job, galvanized valve covers and black air cleaner. Perhaps the Skylark engine was green but in the big car it was indeed silver.
