Does anyone know if the 64-67 Buick 300 exhaust manifolds will work on an Olds 215? Is there any weird angles, plug intefearance, or other issues?

They will bolt up to the motor but you may have firewall clearance issues.

IME, They always dump/fit better. Less prone to cracking, flow better = win/win. roverman.

Buick 300 exhaust manifolds on Olds 215 heads? I have a set of Buick 215 exhaust manifolds you can have if they will help.

Thanks Carl... I have a set of 300 manifolds but they are in storage right now...Just wont be able to get to them for a while.

Were the 64 300 manifolds different than the 65-67 manifolds? I know the heads are different.

After years of collecting parts and dust Ive finally come to the point I need to do something with the Vega?Astre project and all the parts Ive collected, or just sell it all....

The stroker engine would have to be put on hold... I have a bone stock Olds 215 I could rebuild and get all the running gear sorted out and this thing ruuning and road worthy... Then I could always install the stroker down the road .

Tony, This old Phil Baker article shows the 300 exhaust manifolds compared to 215. Phil said they dump better for the Vega. Lots of other info in the article.

I have the article. I had spoken with Phil a few times in the past...Just a really nice guy.

I just wasnt sure of the Olds heads in Particular... They are layed out a little different than the Buick heads.

"I just wasnt sure of the Olds heads in Particular... They are layed out a little different than the Buick heads."

The intake and exhaust flanges on the Olds and Buick heads are exactly the same.

Exhaust port and bolt layout are the same for all 215s, but spark plug location and angle vary between Olds and Buick. I don't know if spark plug clearance might effect fitment of 300 heads on an Olds 215.

The flange location between the Olds and Buick 215 is slightly different but the same headers will fit. Just makes a slight difference in body clearance.

What about spark plug access?

You may have to cut away the straps between the ports on the header flanges.

But the stock cast iron 64 -67 manifold don't present any plug access issues on Olds heads?
