cam shafts
this is for the stock MG engine. i have posted this to the stock MG forum but i trust the info i get from here more than i do from the stock forum. thanks
so in my never ending persecute of power i am looking into a high lift street cam. I have my normal place i buy my MG parts from and they say with the exchange of my old cam they will give me a new high lift cam for 95$, not 100% on its details yet, sounds like a deal right? But, they say its a reground cam. From what i hear the reground cam thing is a touchy subject that no one can agree on. So i am wondering what is everyone option on the reground cam vs the one from moss at like 550$. Why such a large price difference. In the process of a new cam is there anything i should upgrade to make the cam worth while? As i recall new lifters are standard procedure with new cams, right? |

Re: cam shafts
The only issue with a reground cam is that the reduced base circle will usually require longer pushrods to maintain the correct rocker geometry. Other than that, there's no reason not to use one.
