Buick 300 intake
I know that this is the wrong forum but hopefully Curtis will redirect......
I have a mix of Buick 215 and Buick 300 intake manifolds--- does anyone know a way to identify between the two? It seems simple (perhaps) but I am having trouble getting it done. |

Re: Buick 300 intake
The width. The narrower ones would be 215 and the wider ones would be 300.

Or post the part numbers here.
Also, the 300 intake covers/seals the lifter valley. The 215 does not. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/14/2016 11:53AM by MGBV8. |

Re: Buick 300 intake
Also, the 300 has a squared off bottom that seals the valley where the 215/Rover has a separate valley cover.

Re: Buick 300 intake
OK, it appears that there is no Buick 300 manifold amongst this lot.
Is there a good after market intake manifold that would suit a Carter 4bbl carb on a Buick 215 with 300 heads? |

Re: Buick 300 intake
If you have hood clearance issues, use the OEM Buick 215 manifold. Otherwise, the Edelbrock 2198 is a smidge taller. If clearance is not a consideration, the Huffaker single plane has ports that match the 300 heads better. Hard to come by & expensive. There is also a Wilpower single plane, but has Buick/Rover sized ports.

Re: Buick 300 intake
One more intake is Offenhauser. Actually 2, The Dual Port which I had on a Jeep and 360 Equa Flow single plane. I think you can buy the single plane new but it is about $ 100 more than the Edelbrock. The dual port is more for lower RPM.

Re: Buick 300 intake
Actually, the Offy 4bbl and 2x2bbl. manifolds, are a smidge+ lower than the oem 4bbl. They are easy to port 64', 300 Buick size ports. They also work as a good base, to weld on a "Dyers Blowers", 6V71 mounting base,(even more work). art.
