Tristan, The 61-63 215(&Olds,Pontiac) Buick 4 speed manual bellhousing/Chevy trans pattern. D&D make a new one also. Unfortunately the T5 you picked up is Ford trans pattern and the 94 and newer has a longer input shaft. There is a Chevy to Ford adapter and Ford spacer for the longer input shaft available from D&D. I really don't recommend stacking both adapters. It would be very expensive to go that way. Get a shorter V8 input shaft and bearing retainer from the junkyard. Then get the Chevy to Ford adapter. Speedway Motors sells the adapter also. There is someone on this board that modified the 3 speed bellhousing also. I just checked D&D and they have a .400 thicker adapter for Ford long input T5 to the much more common 61-63 Buick(&Olds,Pontiac)3 speed bellhousing. #7176-A-10-FT 3 speed to long input Ford T5. The last would be easiest and cheapest.

Tristan, Call D&D and and see if they know where a 3 speed bell housing is and how much for the adapter to the longer input Ford T5. If that's too much, you still have to find the scarcer 4 speed bellhousing for the Chevy T5. The 83-92 Chevy Camaro and Firebird is the T5 you want. The later ones are World Class and use ATF the earlier ones had 70wt gear oil. I used to mix 1 Qt ATF with 2 Qt 90wt but, Syncrhomesh is recommended for the older versions now. The V6 version has lower gears and would need a rear end with higher gears. The V8 version ratios works good with the stock MGB rear. D&D can sell you the new bellhousing with adapter but don't list the price. Here is a link to their catalog:

actually I bought the d&d bellhousing with adapter for ford t5 it was not that expensive also you don't need to change the input shaft etc the transmission also sits level in the car with a minor bit of modification to the crossmember, the rear trans mount sits on it perfectly the shifter comes up in the middle of the tunnel opening front to rear also the next plus is the ford t5 is more readily available and less expensive than the gm the ford t5 has a variety of ratios/overdrives as the gm call d&d and ask questions they are very helpful

X2 Same as Don, Ford SVO T5 and Bellhousing with addapter plate, works perfect.

D&D have thier own bellhousing now also. Definetly it will fit a 93 and older Ford T5. The 93 and up as was already mentioned have a longer input shaft. Call Mark or Dan at D&D to find out if they can accomadate the longer input shaft.

The 'net indicates that '86-'93 Ford T5's have a 7.18" long input shaft and post '94 Ford V8 applications have a 7.85" length....so we have a .67" difference.

I have a '00 v6 mustang t5 that I put the shorter input shaft in. It's been a few years but it wasn't that expensive to buy a new input. I also upgraded mine to the recommended all steel bearing retainer. I got my parts from Astro performance. The newer v6 trans supposedly has stronger gears than the older camaro t5's.

You can check the T5 listing of all the available ones by serial # and year. Its posted on this website. It will tell you what gear ratios you have in your tranny in case you want to know.

I have had a bad experience with D&D. Bell housing did not have clearance needed for ring gear. Both were supplied by D&D. Also gear reduction starter was incorrect for flywheel. Again, D&D provided all these items. Their response was to try and sell me new parts. Will never do business with them again. They are 20% higher on parts than other sources. PM me is you want more details.

Sorry to hear that, there have been some complaints... hopefully they will begin doing a better job of dealing with them.

Jim
