Hydraulic Cam Followers
Hi!
Are Rover V8 and Chevy 350 cam followers interchangeable? Any ideas why 3 of the 4 exhaust valve followers on the Left-hand bank of my 3500 are totally destroyed? No abnormal wear on any of the other 13 followers! Those 3 are hollow by about 1/8". The corners have started to chip off! They run on a Crane 218 cam and there is a high volume oil pump in the engine. Thank yo.u |

Re: Hydraulic Cam Followers
Johan, The Chevy lifters are close but the oil hole is a little higher and can be exposed with a high lift cam. Buick 350 lifters are perfect. I'd look at changing your cam also.

Re: Hydraulic Cam Followers
Adequate clearance from coil-bind on these problem exhaust ? I suspect if hydraulic lifter excess bleed-off, would have clatter from day one ? Dual springs ? Break in cam with singles ? More work, but you might enjoy a hyd. roller ? Good Luck, art.
