Trigger Wheel Mounting
Finally at the point that I would like to move to crank triggered ignition on my Rover 4.6L. It is using a Buick 215 damper and front cover so none of the simple UK sourced kits look to work for the trigger wheel and pick up. While I have seen what Curtis did on his MS3 Pro setup, would rather not have to space out the alternator and water pump. So my question is, would attaching the wheel to the front side of the damper on the outer most circle effect the balance of the motor? Seeing at this outer ring is attached via the rubber to the center section there would be some obvious play but would this be significant to effect the timing and would it hurt the motors balance?

Re: Trigger Wheel Mounting
Should be OK. Another option is to drill holes in the pulley to create a tooth pattern if your pulley is dished.

Re: Trigger Wheel Mounting
I have mine mounted to the back side of the outer ring. Works well, if I remember correctly I had to machine the overall diameter of the trigger wheel by .125" to clear the timing indicator on the cover.
