Sorry to bother, I can't seem to find our discussion of this Volvo and maybe Ford fan ?
Thanks, Art G.

The only one I know of that has that kind of flow is the Lincoln MKVIII fan. The picture shows it with a 17" Ford Taurus fan (which is no slouch), the Volvo fans are about the same size as the Taurus. I believe it is 19" or 20" in diameter and has a very powerful motor. If you hold the housing in your hands and start the fan, it really torques your wrists and creates gale force wind in your face. The only reason I don't have one on my car is I don't have the height for it. You also need at least a 70 amp relay to run it.

The Caravan fan is impressive also.

I used the dual Camaro fans. They work well for a large crossflow.

The Volvo fan (from 970's, S70's, S90's, and several others) is the same as the Taurus (same motor & fins; from what I saw in the bone yards, there were two versions; the one like the Taurus pic where they have curved blades & the others with flat/wider blades; both blow a gale force wind but the curved blades are a little quieter) but with different packaging. I like it better - 2 to 4 bolts attach it (some are 4 bolts, some are two bolts at the top & 2 pins at the bottom. Either way, when it's removed, you have a round shroud with 4 holes for mounting. Easy to make a shroud to fit your radiator & attach it. The volvo unit has a nice relay pack that's easy to get at too.

I am disappointed in the search results on this. I know there is a thread with good info where we discussed this. Rob gave the Volvo models in it. Why can we not find it?!

I have a good bit of info on Volvo fans but it is in a Word document and I can't attach it. I could email it to anyone who wants it.

Yeah, seems we can only upload pics here. So, I put it on my local club's website for anyone that wants to download it.

I have a 2004 Volvo S80 fan which has the moulded shroud, the controller fits onto the shroud and has two large cables and one small one, does anyone have any idea how this one works? is it a single speed or does it come on from a separate relay and then have a second speed triggered by the small cable?
I also have two Jaguar S Type fans, they look very similar to the Volvo one but have seven cables going to the controller, there are two power supplies, one is 80 amps, the second is 20 amps plus an earth, two more go to the fan motor itself. I presume the remaining two are signal cables, one come from the air con ECU and the other comes from engine ECU.
None of these fans owe me anything so do I keep them or get rid of them and buy the above mentioned Volvo fan which are quite rare in the UK

Look at the bottom right of the picture I posted above (4th from the top). Does either of your fan "controllers" look like that? If so, that is a relay pack and I can share a diagram for how to wire it.
