Run crower 50232 with solid lifters?
Thoughts on running solid vs hydraulic on a cam like this?
I already have adjustable forged rockers; just wondering if there is any significant gains to be had going solid? |

You need an adjustable rocker setup or adjustable pushrods. You will gain a little top end. Acts like a smaller cam. Recommend the lifters with the small oil hole on the face. Will have to experiment with closer valve lash.

Was not aware you could do that. I have the same cam still in the box patiently waiting.
I have a solid lift cam in my ol' Camaro because adjusting hydraulic lifters was so messy. |

That is a pretty mild cam. The only real reason for solid lifters is that hydraulic lifters would not allow high revs. I doubt very much that this cam requires solid lifters.

The Crower 50232 with hydraulic lifter combination is fine - ran that combo in my Olds 215...largely due to the recommendation of Dan Lagrou at D&D. who promoted that cam profile for the BOPR engine.

Using solids should result in a little more lift and duration. Not much, but the ramp used to engage the hydraulics becomes part of the cam profile instead.
