Anyone know if a SD1 V8 cross member can be made to work in a TR8?

It can with some modifications. The "horns" for the engine mounts are different and also the engine brackets on the block. I am sure the spacing of the subframe to body bolting pattern is not the same either. Best bet is to get a TR7 subframe and cut off the SD1 horns and weld them on and try to get them close to what a TR8 subframe engine location would be.

That won't work either Mike. The SD1 horns are not even close to what a TR8 horn is. Engine mount brackets are different for that matter as and motor mounts well. Best easiest way is to find TR8 subframe and engine brackets. Should run 4 to 500 dollars if you can find them. Best cheap way is to get a set of brackets for a V6 Buick and make your own horns out of roll cage tubing and plate steel. Weld those horns onto the TR7 subframe.
