Just saw a transmission for sale out of a 80 Mustang 4 cylinder. the picture doesnt look like a Borg Warner and the seller says the only the only numbers on it are FR-EOZR-7006-AB. Does anybodt know what this is and what might the gear ratios be? Thanks Tbody

Don't know, but this link may give you some clues. I did a search on those casting numbers -- didn't find an exact match, but several similar ones that indicate it was made by a company called "NewProcess" & used in some Ford vehicles... [www.ford-trucks.com] Might call the same place the poster in that thread did to get it decoded.

Thanks Rob thats abig help. The ford-trucks website said New Process and Tremec are the same company so this trans must be what they made before they bought Borg Warner. The Haynes repair manual for 1980 Mustang 4 cylinder list two 4 speeds one a RAD and the other an ET type. Both have poor ratios made for four cylinders. No mention of 5 speed at all. Maybe somebody swapped the 5speed in earlier on. I will google New Process/tremec and see what infi I can get.

Rob. There was a 5speed offered in the 1980 Cobra and Capri.Must have been rare.New Process seems to have been big in four wheel drive and truck transmissions. Was a division of Daimler AG. As for the 5speed I couldnt find any gear ratios. They are probably so rare parts are not available Anyway hows that for trivial pursuits?
