Rover 14cux idle bypass valve
I believe i understand the theory of the stepper valve that controls the by pass air valve.
But how does it work? Appears to have two windings. Is one an open, the other a close winding? Or does the ECU reverse polarity to drive the valve open and closed? I ask because i have tried two used valves and neither seem to react to voltage input from ECU. I'd like to know if ECU is sending correct signal to valve Thank you ian |

Stepper? Is is a rotary actuator? A stepper motor moves one 'step' at a time, in discrete steps measured in degrees of rotation. For example, a step might be 2 degrees or 4 degrees of rotation. That would require two windings and at least four wires.
