Rover 3.5 TPS

Hello
Is this the correct section for Rover engine questions?
I have one in my TR7
The Throttle Position Sensor is causing major problems
What is the opinion of members here?
Pay the big money for a Genuine Land Rover item from a dealership or pay half the amount
for a reproduction from a aftermarket supplier?

As a follow up, I found the following:
I have a 14CUX running a 3.5
The TPS is defective and i am looking into a replacement.
I was told my ECU and harness came from a 1992 model.
I ordered one from Land Rover and the connector on the new TPS was
square, not round like the old one. The TPS body looked the same.
The dealer told me the 1991 TPS has a round connector(but is $150 more expensive)
They made the 14CUX untill 1995.
My question, can i cut the connector off of the new TPS and solder my old connector to it?
Is the new one compatable?
thank you

FYI, newer style TPS is the same as the older style except for the different connector

Sorry Ian,
I thought that I had answered your question.
Seems that I hit the wrong button.
Glad to see you got the right answer though.
Cheers
Fred
