Who needs EFI when you can have EVA?
I knew they had been using hydraulicly actuated valves in some diesel engines but a pneumatic actuator is also interesting. Supposedly good to 20k rpm.

With 60K on the test mule it sounds like real progress. Where is the company located?

Ah heee. Koenigsegg is a SUPER high end sports car manufacturer. It'll set you back almost 2 meelion dollars to get into their latest, greatest.
[en.wikipedia.org] [en.wikipedia.org] We can always hope that he won't be price gouging for his tech but I dunno if that's going to play out. |

Yah, but the distances are shorter so they add bends in the road to make it seem longer.....

Re: Who needs EFI when you can have EVA?
That's pretty slick. I wonder what the hp drag would be to run the air compressor? Maybe 5-6hp? Add an A/C compressor and you're up to 15hp drag on the engine before the drivetrain? Could you program the compressor to kick in after 1500 rpm, or never under moderate to full throttle? I think these guys should get a feedback channel. Great idea, I want to see this go mainstream.
