I used these because a couple extra sets were laying around the office at work:

I think Ted at Fast Cars favors something very similar for his conversions.

McMasterCarr sells a very similar cushion that works well with a head attached engine mount. Details are in the Roadmaster and 340 threads.

Hello,
I am new to this site. I am working on a 69 MGB/Ford 302 conversion. I have a home made corvette C5 front end suspension already fabricated and installed on the car. Just had the engine rebuilt and need to put it back in but don't like the set up that was there when I started. The suspension set-up puts the top of the a-arm inside the compartment, bolted onto the top of the frame rails. It makes for a crowded situation in there. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about engine mounts that might provide maximum clearance for headers and steering shaft, given this set-up. Has anyone ever seen a front suspension like this in an MGB? Any thoughts? I bought the car this way and it looks like it will work but it creates a lot of headaches with steering, etc.

Pics might help. Hard to make suggestions without being able to see what's there. Haven't seen another MG with suspension bolted to top of frame rails or using vette front suspension.

Without pics, the only idea that comes to mind is cylinder head mounts. That would get them out of the area you're finding is a bit tight
