Rover 4.0 Boly on oil take off plate
Hi,
I'm trying to find a bolt on oil take off plate (replace bottom half of oil pump cover) for a Rover 4.0. I have very little clearence with my front X-member (motor way back in an MGB). I have seen them for the 3.5 and 3.9 motors, but the 4.0 has a different bolt pattern. It was suggested to look at the Ford take off plates. Anybody have any suggestions on where to get one? Ideally it would be 1-1.5 inches in height. Any help at all would be appreciated Neil |

I didn't realize they were different bolt patterns. I'm looking forward to hearing what the answer is. I had this problem as well until fabricated a new crossmember for my car.

Re: Rover 4.0 Boly on oil take off plate
Well the answer is to change the front timing cover to and older style (I went to the Buick 300) which then allows the use of an available low profile bolt on oil take off plate. Of course, no longer uses the crank driven oil pump and requires a few other modifications (front seal, timing marks etc...). At least one problem (front X-member clearence) solved. Now on to the next...
