Has anybody seen this carb or used one on a 215?

I'll let someone more qualified give you details... but the quick answer:
a) the Holley 390 is a very popular carb and well suited for a 215cid engine in general.
b) I think you'll find that it's slightly taller than the Edelbrock
(that may give problems in a few MGB installations...)
c) it's a little more challenging to get the Holley's mixture optimized when first installed.
d) many people claim the Holley is better than the Edlebrock for high-g turns.

I would the question of what has been done to your 215? Is it a high compression engine? Bigger cam? Head work, etc? That may make the 390 ok but not the best. The 390 is for a totally stock engine an exccellent match. The electric choke works well but the draw back is the carb is only available with vacuum secondaries not mechanical. It takes some of the fun out of romping on the engine. I had one on a TR8 with head work, 8:1 compression and a 460 lift cam. It worked fine and I dorve the car from Massachusetts to Mobile-Alabama, Mephis-Tenn, Chicago-Illinios, Davenport-Iowa and back to Mass from September to March.......not a problem and I got 20 to 22 mpg highway and needed minor mixture adjusting. From sun to 2 feet of snow.......oh those were the days!
