Hi all,
I am about to start a V8 conversion on an Mgb Gt chrome bumper.
I have acquired a rover SD1 engine (auto) and a Manual flywheel and clutch.
I also have an LT77 gearbox from a Triumph TR7 and a SD1 bell housing.
On inspection the Sd1 bell housing is considerably longer than the Triumph one.
Does this mean I will need a new first motion shaft or basically can anyone tell me what if anything will be required.

Cheers
Look forward to all replies.

I have a TR7 5-speed LT77 gearbox fitted to a Rover V8 with SD1 bellhousing. You donīt need to change the 1st motion shaft. You do have to change the fulcrum pin (pivot) bolt for the clutch release arm and clutch release bearing carrier. There are 3 different pivot bolts depending on which engine the box is fitted. The correct one for V8 engine is UKC13.

There are different release bearing carriers, depending on which clutch you have (non self centering vs. self centering). I am using GRB209 release bearing and FRC5368A carrier.
