In the last video where the leaking cylinder wall was being demonstrated, I couldn't help notice that the leak is immediately adjacent to the head bolt.

There are some that think that may be the cause of stress in that area. I would chamfer the head bolt holes and use studs also. Not the stock stretch bolts.

Jim, I've read that there are bolts that have threads at the business end but then have no threads in the area near the block deck. This would shift the block distortion lower down into the block. I don't know if that would make a difference in this situation.
