OEM injection or ?
Application is 6 cylinder, street and slalom/etc. E85 fuel only, centrifugal supercharger to possibly 12 psi. manifold ? I'm thinking I'll need wide band O2, and easy programmable ? Smog testing not required. Your skilled thoughts please ? Thanks, art.

Re: OEM injection 4.0L Ford V6 , circa 2003 ?
A Corvair engine specialist, is using this system, with an Eaton M90. He is using stock injectors, TB and ignition. No problems, so far at 8 lbs. boost, with narrow band sensor. Engine is 3.4L. and is about 300 hp. How do I best convert a system like this, for 8-12 lbs of boost, on E85 ? Thanks, art.

Re: OEM injection or ?
Art,
There are a huge number of GM V6 engines. Just in the 60 degree family and just in the USA, there is the 2.8L TBI, 2.8 and 3.1L MPFI, 3.4L SFI, 2800 MPFI, 3100 MPFI 3400 MPFI 3400DOHC MPFI 3400 SFI 3400DOHC SFI 3500 early SFI 3500 late SFI 3900 SFI. I think I missed a few and there are variations and various PCMs, wiring looms, fuel rails and so on. That said, if there is support, chances are the factory system will work for your requirements. We pulled 215 BHP and 254 pounds of torque out of a 3.4L with stock intake and injectors. -BMC. |

Re: OEM injection or ?
Thanks Brian, but it "seems" I would need a flex fuel system or aftermarket for E85 ?
