I'm contemplating using the intermediate front cover on my present engine build.
I have done some search on site and have read quite a few post.
Does anyone know the Rover part # for this.
Also would like any thoughts and caveats and gotchas

John Eales has a front cover with crank-driven pump.

Not cheap, but Obtainum.

Seen that before

Besides being pricey what's the thought on it?

That looks pretty slick, do you still use the oil filter connections on the other side of the block?

V8 developments lists an intermediate cover for 300 GBP too. No pictures though, assume it's like factory part listed by Rimmer but don't know .

I really like that.

So without the oil pump in the sump you should be able to remove that front sump then? Which means no more cutting the crossmember and no more cutting the driver's side frame rail?

This could be just what the SBF swap has been in need of, adding a great deal of simplicity to the conversion.

Jim, That is a Rover front cover. There is one like that for the Ford too though. Very expensive. I would like a little more belt wrap to drive the water pump than in that picture.

Jim B, For me it's on my Wedge with a Wedge sump so no big problem
Jim N, You mean if it had this?

Eventually I want to reinstall the AC so I need to question about that

Hi Don,
I've been looking at using that cover too. How has it been working for you? Do you have any more photos?

With the John Eales cover,Don't take the oil pressure from the two Allen plugs by the oil pipe connections !
Take it from one of the oil pipes,or from your remote filter, took me a while to work that out !

The stock 4.2 had the intermediate cover if you can find one.
