Des Hammillís RV8 Oil System Mods?

In How to Power Tune Rover V8 Engines, Des Hammill suggests a few tweaks to the oil system that I havenít seen discussed here:

Page 100: Drill a smaller .060Ē oiling hole in the cam bearings 180 degrees opposite the stock 3/16Ē hole, and use that very small hole instead of the factory hole to restrict oil to the cam, diverting more flow to the main and rod bearings where more flow is needed. Apparently helps keep oil distribution even throughout the engine, even after cam bearings are worn past ideal tolerances.

Page 104-105: Tap the 3/16Ē valvetrain oil feed holes in the bIock or head and install grub screws with a .040Ē hole in them to restrict flow to lifters, which can increase engine oil pressure by about 5psi.

Anyone have thoughts on these? Iím about to pull the trigger on a rebuild, and am wondering what the consensus opinion on these modifications might be?

If you've done the other mods and have kept your bearing clearances under .0015" you shouldn't need these mods. I have 45psi at 1500rpm with 5w20 oil.

I did the head "restrictor" mod years before Des's book was out,
I went roller rocker, and didn't need so much oil in the heads
