I have the above in my 72 MGB GT. I have been having a problem with driveability.
It surges quite badly when cold less so when warm.
To date I have had the carb rebuilt, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
It is the worst at low rpm just off idle in lower gears, it idles very smooth.

I have made a little progress. I made a cold air intake for it and in doing so reduced the intake area from the whole filter being exposed to the air coming through a three inch tube. It now runs very well except still has a flat spot off idle. I'm guessing it was too lean before.
