Re: Nice carb setup
Yes.
Quads... at one time I was going to fit SU quads to my 215, but the setup got broken in transit from France. And I subsequently read that the quad SU setup for the RV8 had to have different needles in each carb due to the characteristics of the boxer manifold. And was in any case not suitable for the road because it was overchoked, so one way and another I may have avoided a load of problems. Having said that, this chap is building quads into a Riley, so, a road car. [www.youtube.com] As an aside, you may have seen this page of weird and wonderful fuelling developments for the RV8 [www.mez.co.uk] British V8 gets a mention, and then there is an interesting write-up by the maker of the quad SU manifold. Re: Nice carb setup
I took these photos at Barber Motorsport Museum in Alabama. This was an old Lotus that got converted to 215 power. I guess it was underpowered with factory engine. Looked like it was an Oldsmobile motor. Couldnīt say for sure, too much carburation on top of the motor.
