Bessler's U-pull just down the road has Silverados with V8's. Their price sheet has V8 engines going for $216 + a $55 core charge. I would imagine it would not be too hard to find something suitable there.

Probably the iron block variety, like mine. 2014 & up has an aluminum engine block.

Yeah, the engines have been pulled from all the newer ones.But given time the aluminum ones should become available. How much time? Maybe another 10 years for all I know.

There also was a older Trailblazer with the aluminum 5.3. LS4 had better heads though.

One of these days when we get the gang together again here at Blackwood Labs, and provided I am able to set a little cash aside for it, we might run out to Bessler's and see if we can find an aluminum block LS. Maybe in the fall if things go well.
