Anyone have or done this ? My Fiero needs more "soup".

Art,

There was a supercharger setup made for the S10 2.8L, but the 3.4L iron head engine pushes the power and torque up enough to supercharger power. You can build a 3.4L without adding compression, and run stock injectors and still get decent power. We have built a couple like that out of the 1993-95 Camaro/Firebird. 210-215 BHP, and 250-254 Lb-Tq.

With a bone stock 3.4L and the stock SFI system on it that would work VERY well in a fiero, we pulled 165 BHP/220 lb-tq out of ALL the basic stock engines.
With a computer program on those engines, it pushed it up to 175/230.
With a 252 camshaft on an otherwise stock engine it also raised it up to 175/230. Adding our computer program to that pushed it up to 185/235-240.

With the modifications of the first engine mentioned, it was a cam, large bore throttle body, and I believe pocket porting... That engine actually 'ran out' of injector and if we had used larger injectors, we would have seen somewhere around another 10 BHP we guesstimate. Had we continued to do more, the numbers would have continued to rise. THAT SAID- it becomes a "Bench Race" to see who can get how much power out of what, and how it fits in any car, and the costs, and the actual outcome of how fast a car will be with the other changes to it. So although I could 'claim' bigger and better numbers that CAN happen, I am saying what did happen.

AND best part of all, the 3.4L has been retrofitted to the Fiero many times previously. I recommend going to the L32 3.4L SFI complete system rather than sticking with the original Fiero intake, ECU, and ignition system.

Want even more? There are other FWD conversions, but they require a lot more in mounts, headers, and other things to configure.

Personally, I would not spend a dime on that 2.8 lump.

There are a number of documented different engine swaps for the Fiero, from the 3.4 Brian mentions, to the LS4 Scott Costanzo used in his MGB, or even Caddy V8s. Soup on, Art! :)
